Home Learning

At Desford Community Primary School, we understand that family life away from school is very busy and see the other experiences that our children have in their spare time as valuable enrichment to their development. Our approach to homework is therefore focussed on spending a little bit of time every week rehearsing the core skills that will have a positive impact on learning in school. Homework progresses in line with these principles from EYFS to Year 6, with some increases in expectations to help to prepare the children for their transition to high school.

In addition to this, there is half-termly optional homework available for all year groups that is linked to the Wider Curriculum subject areas. Please check Class Dojo for these.

Remote learning at Desford Community Primary School

At Desford Community Primary School, we believe learning should continue wherever a child is. Remote learning may be used if a pupil cannot attend school due to illness, severe weather, or temporary closure. Our aim is to keep children learning, safe, and connected with their class.

We will notify families promptly of any remote learning arrangements and provide clear points of contact for support.
