Desford is a happy, friendly and hard-working school with a dedicated team of staff. Our pupils behave well, are keen to learn and they take great pride in respecting our school and wider village community. As well as teaching staff, we also have specialist sports coaches from Coach Unlimited that teach PE sessions on a weekly basis.

Support Staff

We employ a range of support staff across the school to meet a variety of needs. All support staff deliver or support phonics and reading lessons at the start if the day. Support staff are often directed to support children with additional needs that are entitled to statutory support beyond that which the Class Teacher is able to provide alone. Support staff also support the wider needs of children in the classroom, whilst also delivering interventions in English, Maths and Emotional Literacy.

Extra Time Club (ETC)

We offer a before and after school child care provision that is from 7:45am-8:45am in the mornings and 3:15pm-5:30pm in the evenings. You can find more information about this provision under the ‘Parents’ tab of the website.
