PE and Sport Premium

Schools in the United Kingdom receive a share of £150m per year, jointly funded by The Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport.

This Physical Education and Sport Premium funding is ring-fenced and must be used to provide sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and Sport in school.


We will receive £9260 of PE and Sport Premium funding for the 2016-2017 academic year.


We will use our PE and Sport Premium funding to employ a full-time, specialist and qualified Sports Coach to:

  • Develop and deliver a broad Physical Education curriculum
  • Develop the knowledge and confidence of teaching staff
  • Deliver an extensive extra-curricular programme
  • Create and monitor a variety of leadership opportunities for pupils
  • Ensure there is access to and success in both intra and inter-school competition
  • Develop working links with a variety of local, community groups and clubs


We allocate £7100 of the PE and Sport Premium funding contribute to employing our Sports Coach.


£2160 of the PE and Sport Premium funding is allocated as follows:

  • £400 for transport to inter-school competitions
  • £500 for sports equipment
  • £200 for Continuous Professional Development opportunities
  • £300 for affiliation to Sports Networks.
  • £500 for introducing new sports/activities to school
  • £260 for staff supporting sessions/competitions
