Desford Community Primary School is a Local Authority School and as such, admits pupils in accordance with the Leicestershire policy on admissions.
All school admissions are co-ordinated and processed centrally by the Admissions Department at County Hall and extensive information on this subject is available on the Leicestershire County Council website.

Parents who would like their children to attend Desford Community Primary School should apply for a place using the online application process described in detail in the link above. Hard-copy forms are available from the school office but must be returned directly to County Hall.
Please be aware , Desford Primary school has a formal catchment area for pupils, including the villages of Desford, Botcheston and Kirkby Mallory ( and environs). The Local Authority Admissions Policy prioritises the allocation of school places to in-catchment pupils, with out-of-catchment applications being considered only if the school has places in the relevant year groups.
For children joining the Reception classes at Desford Primary School in the August 2018 please be aware that applications for places MUST be submitted to the Local Authority by 15th January 2018. If you don't apply, or don't apply on time, your child may not get a place. This applies to in-catchment applications, too: if you don't apply on time, you may lose your in-catchment entitlement to a place.
